Are you interested in planning exciting events throughout the year that give youth artists around York Region the

opportunity to connect, develop and showcase their work? Do you want to help support and grow Markham’s artistic

culture, and are a passionate student leader going into grades 9, 10, 11 or 12 next year? If so, apply to be on the MTAC

Position Descriptions:

Co-Chairs

  • Create agendas for bi-weekly meetings

  • Maintain order and consistent communication

  • Create monthly email newsletters

  • Liaise with MAC board members on current affairs and attend monthly meetings

  • Book venues for events

  • Coordinate collaborations with other organizations

 

Secretary + Treasurer

  • Keep track of meeting minutes

  • Record annual budget and keep track of expenses for events

  • Liaise with MAC’s treasurer

  • Provide MAC with monthly updates via email

  • Create monthly email newsletters

 

Graphic Designers

  • Create graphics for MTAC’s social media platforms

  • Coordinate with the marketing team on appropriate deadlines

 

External Affairs + Sponsorship Coordinators

  • Contact companies for monetary and in-kind sponsorships

  • Liaise with community members 

  • Coordinate volunteers for events 

 

Marketing Directors 

  • Manage + update MTAC social media accounts

  • Plan promotional activities for events

  • Communicate with other youth councils for cross-promotion

  • Coordinate with the graphics team to produce content

 

Web Designer

  • Update website with current event information

  • Most Likely using Wix or Similar website making interface

  • Have a good sense of design

 

Add-ons

  • Photographer

    • Coordinate how event highlights should be captured (where everyone should be positioned, roles of other photographers, etc.)

    • Capture event highlights, exec photos and upload to council drive

    • Plan how exec photos can be taken creatively taken into consideration event themes

  • Videographer

    • Take video footage during events

    • Edit videos

    • Make promotional videos for events

    • Make recap videos for events

    • Be able to create promotional videos with no footage (using stock footage and text)
